Reconstruction of the Ondrej Nepela Ice Stadium in Bratislava
The purpose of the reconstruction was to change the hall with the original one-sided focus on ice-skating sports into a multifunctional hall with a capacity of 10,000 seats. The Project Office of the Fischer Company succeeded to join together all requirements of the investor – City of Bratislava including the requirements for a modern attractive architecture. The Ingsteel Company, a general supplier, made the challenging reconstruction in a very short time – from April 2009 to April 2011 and finished shortly before the Ice-hockey World Championship began in Slovakia in 2011. Two training skating rings were added to the main hall, which are used by the public and have a capacity of 1,150 persons. Also underground parking was built under these training skating rings. The Hasil Company contributed to this significant project by supplying fire resistant glazed EW30 doors in many aesthetic colors, which lead to the viewing area. The Hasil Company also supplied enclosures for fire escape stairways and underground paving with fire resistance EW30-EI60 as well as installed 14 fireproof and non-fireproof sliding steel gates for garage areas and individual floors of the halls. The Hasil Company’s doors can be seen on the 5th floor of the main hall which serves the VIPs and where the presidential box is located.
